Prayer Material

The Bible says our fight is against the invisible forces that are at work in the unseen realm. When we turn away from wrongdoing, these forces lose their power and their plans are broken. Repentance unlocks revival. Let’s turn back to God! Then we will see the Spirit of God move in our nation and the world.

"...if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 (MEV)

Pray The Word

A praying nation has protection against the works of darkness. Let’s break the plans of the enemy over South Africa. Here are Bible verses to pray.

  1. Your Word promises that You will subdue our enemies and turn Your hand against them if we listen to You. Lord, we choose to listen and to walk in Your ways. (Psalm 81:13-14)

  2. Lord, thank You, that we don’t have to fear disaster when You are in our midst. (Zephaniah 3:15)

  3. Jesus, thank You, that You are our Shepherd and that You prepare a table for us in the presence of our enemies. (Psalm 23:5)

  4. We put on the armour of God and stand fearlessly in prayer against the enemy’s plans. We will continue to pray until the enemy’s plans are broken over our nation. (Ephesians 6:11-18)

  5. We acknowledge that our battle isn’t against people but spiritual forces. Teach us how to use our spiritual weapons to destroy strongholds over South Africa. (2 Corinthians 10:4)

  6. Lord, Your Word promises that You will defeat our enemies and that they will flee. (Deuteronomy 28:7)

  7. Lord, we know that the devil tempts us and when we fall into temptation we sin. Lord, we choose not to submit to the temptations but to stand on Your promise that You will provide a way for us to endure. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

  8. Lord, we are prepared to stand in the gap to guard our land. (Ezekiel 22:30)

  9. We submit ourselves to You. We resist the devil and his plans. (James 4:7)

  10. The enemy is prowling like a lion looking for prey to devour, but we know that when we stand firm in the faith, You will protect us against his evil plans. (1 Peter 5:8-9)

  11. Lord, thank You that no weapon formed against us will prosper for it is our heritage as believers. (Isaiah 54:17)

  12. Jesus, thank You that when we repent of our sins and turn from our wicked ways, You will heal our nation. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

  13. Lord, help South Africa to yield in obedience to serve You so that You may bless us. (Romans 6:16)

  14. Lord, thank You that the enemy is defeated and won’t succeed with his plans against South Africa. (Psalm 21:11-12)

  15. Lord teach South Africa Your ways and lead us away from the enemy. (Psalm 27:11)

  16. Father, thank You for giving South Africa the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. For it’s not by our might or power but by Your Spirit that the enemy is defeated. (1 Corinthians 15:57; Zechariah 4:6)

  17. Lord, You have given us the authority to tread on serpents, scorpions and all the power of the enemy. (Luke 10:19)

  18. The enemy wants to destroy South Africa, but Jesus You came to give South Africa abundant life. (John 10:10)

  19. Thank You, Jesus, that South Africa will overcome all the plans of the enemy by Your Blood, the Blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 12:11)

  20. We do not fear the plans of the enemy because Your Word says You fight for us. (Deuteronomy 3:22)

  21. Thank You, Jesus, that when You are for us, nothing can be against us. (Romans 8:31)

  22. Thank You, Father, that when we dwell in Your shelter, You are our refuge and fortress. Thank You that South Africa can trust You to protect us. (Psalm 91:1-4)

Week 1

Week 1

1. Reverse The Curse

We are created in the image of God. When Adam and Eve sinned, they produced death, and a sinful nature developed. Humanity became predisposed to disobeying God. The more we disobey God, the more we open the door to destruction in the world. Satan wants a cursed, destructive world.

Jesus died on the Cross to give us His nature. He broke the curses of the old, sinful, nature and gave us a new nature that freed us from the devil and his destructive plans. When we walk in Christ’s nature–in that obedience to the Father– we have power over the plans of the enemy. Then our country and the world around us become blessed.

"For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one (Adam), much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in [eternal] life through the One, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17 (AMP)

2. Obey The Way

  • The natural man inherited a sinful nature. We receive the nature of Jesus through the Cross. Are you walking in the life of Christ?

  • God blesses obedience. When we obey Him, He protects us against the enemy’s plans. Make a list of the areas where you can be more obedient. Read the Bible daily to help you.

PRAY: Thank you, Jesus, that You died on the Cross to give us a new nature and legacy. Lord, help us to obey You so that South Africa will walk in Your blessings. Amen.

3. Break The Plans of The Enemy

4. Pray for South Africa

Set time aside and pray for the plans of the enemy to be broken in South Africa.

Week 2

Week 2

1. Enrolled & Equipped

God calls us to be mighty warriors in His army. He equips us with His Word to overcome the enemy. He doesn’t want us ignorant of the wiles of the devil. God says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)

Satan doesn’t want people to have the knowledge of Christ (Ephesians 4:13; Colossians 1:9-10) because it will expose his plans against the nations. When our actions line up with the Word of God the enemy’s plans are broken. We are not moved by what we see around us, because we know our God.

"Put on God’s whole armour [the armour of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil." Ephesians 6:11 (AMPC)

2. Action Plan

  • We experience spiritual, mental, emotional and financial attacks from an invisible enemy. What can we do when under siege? Will South Africa accept the attack, or do we KNOW our God?

  • Equip yourself with the Word of God. Make a habit of memorising Bible verses and praying it daily over yourself and South Africa.

PRAY: Lord, thank you that no weapon formed against South Africa will prosper. Equip the people in South Africa with Your Word and Your Spirit. Amen.

3. Break The Plans of The Enemy

Many people focus on surface issues they can see, but the Bible says our fight is against the unseen. The way we deal with the devil’s secret strategies is to war it through in prayer. In prayer, we break his plans in our lives, against our families, our cities and our country.

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

4. Pray for South Africa

Set time aside and pray for the plans of the enemy to be broken in South Africa.

Week 3

Week 3

1. The Enemy Is Defeated

Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. Yet, situations and circumstances bombard us placing us under siege. Jesus intended the Church to walk in supernatural victory, not in defeat. He defeated the devil and delegated divine power and authority to us.

When we walk in the freedom that is in Christ–free from the bondage of sin–we will have authority over all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm us (Luke 10:19). The Lord wants South Africa to live in that victory.

"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]." John 10:10 (AMP)

2. Authorised Access Only

  • Satan looks for cracks where he can gain authority and jurisdiction in our lives to rob us of living in God’s victory. Cracks appear when we walk our way (sin) and not in Christ’s freedom.

  • Can you identify the cracks in your life, in South Africa? How do we fix these cracks?

PRAY: Lord, forgive us for walking our way and giving the enemy access in our lives. Help us as a nation to turn away from sin and turn back to You. Amen.

3. Break The Plans of The Enemy

The enemy’s plans transcend cultural, racial, social and economic barriers. It is hidden, a covert strategy. The devil wants to destroy South Africa, but it’s not God’s plan. That is why we pray. God hears our prayers and He will break the enemy’s plans so that our nation may walk in spiritual victory.

"When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross." Colossians 2:15 (AMP)

4. Pray for South Africa

Set time aside and pray for the plans of the enemy to be broken in South Africa.

Week 4

Week 4

1. Heir Force

God wants all of South Africa blessed. Blessed means happy, favoured and prosperous. It has nothing to do with us, our socio-economic status, gender, or culture—it’s a spiritual inheritance from God.

When we come to Jesus and humbly confess our sins and habitually obey the Father, He opens the windows of heaven for us. The same is true for our nation. South Africa will prosper when we walk in our spiritual inheritance in Christ Jesus.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." 3 John 2 (NKJV)

2. Break The Plans

  • The enemy wants to rob us of God’s blessings. He uses our uniqueness to cause misunderstandings and divisions. What must we let go of to stop the enemy from robbing our nation?

  • Do we recognise the devil’s strategies? How can we break the enemy’s plans against our families, cities, and nation?

PRAY: Lord, thank You, for the inheritance You have given us. Help South Africa to walk in repentance and diligent obedience so we will be a nation blessed of God. Amen.

3. Break The Plans of The Enemy

God wants to change nations, not just South Africa, but nations. The Holy Spirit is eager to use us; to pray through us. Do we give Him the time? If we are prepared to, the glory of God will come. Let’s eagerly seek the face of God and pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

"I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one." Ezekiel 22:30 (NLT)

4. Pray for South Africa
