Week 3: Stay Broken
1. STAY BROKEN
In the Bible, God tells us not to grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9), not to allow the roots of bitterness to spring up (Hebrews 12:15), and not to let the sun go down while we are angry (Ephesians 4:26). Why? Because the enemy knows if we allow offenses and bitterness, we cannot be useful vessels in the Master's hand. When we're offended, we are hard like a rock, and then He can't use us to pray for souls in South Africa to be set free, healed, and delivered.
Jesus did not allow the rejection, hatred, and bitterness from His own people to harden His heart. He broke His flesh instead of giving in to it, which is why His light and love could flow. When Jesus saw what He had to go through, He said, "not My will, but Yours, be done" (Luke 22:42).

2. STAY SOFT
-
Whatever comes your way (even if it seems unfair), stay soft and don’t get bitter. A hard heart is Satan’s nature.
-
We must not try to heal our own hurts. Jesus is the Good Samaritan who picks us up, cleanses us, and heals us with His Blood.
PRAY: Heavenly Father, help us to stay soft and broken and not get bitter so that we can receive healing and restoration through Your Blood. Use us to pray for souls in South Africa. Amen.
3. BROKEN
Many religions advocate hatred towards people that are not part of their religion and don't believe the same as they do. But as true Spirit-filled believers, we do not hate people from other religions. Even though we disagree with their doctrines and teachings, we love and pray for them. People who are not born-again don't have the nature of our Savior and are deceived by their own nature, which pulls them down into darkness. That is why we must get rid of the old nature (self) and allow the life of Jesus—the new life and mindset—to flow through us.
Let's be broken like Jesus. He showed us what to do with the flesh. The flesh must be crucified with the old life and its emotions. It must be poured out, so we can receive the new life of Jesus.
"Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?" Ezekiel 18:31 (NKJV)
4. #PRAY4SA
Set time aside and pray that South Africa will see God’s power through our brokenness.
Broken
Jesus didn’t allow rejection, suffering, and pain to harden His heart. Instead, He became broken and poured out His life for us.
Let’s follow His example and allow God to use our brokenness to deliver souls in South Africa.
“My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.” Psalm 51:17 (AMPC)
