Week 4: Fiery Prayer

1. Fiery Prayer

In Luke 24:49, Jesus told the disciples to stay in Jerusalem and wait for God’s power to come. After Jesus ascended into Heaven, they were facing persecution from the political system and religious leaders. They were 120 ordinary people, praying and waiting on God in one room, standing on His promise. (Acts 2:4-8) Then, something changed over the earth. The power of the Holy Spirit came down on them like wind and fire! Instantaneously, they were all filled with the power of God.

A few insignificant people turned the world upside down with God’s power because they kept praying and standing in unity. Imagine the change we’ll see in South Africa if we do the same.

…they were all together in one place, and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues resembling fire…and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. Acts 2:1-3 (AMP)

2. Standing Together

  • How are you responding to situations in South Africa? Do you speak against the government and president? Do you blame people, or do you wait on God in prayer?

  • The #Pray4SA family can’t gather together physically, but we gather together by agreeing in prayer. Are you standing with us and praying expectantly?

PRAY: Father God, as we stand in unity for South Africa, we call on Your power. We believe for a move of Your Spirit to touch this nation, and the world. Amen

3. Power Up

Prayer is not ordinary. Jesus said that if two of us agree on something in prayer, He will do it. (Matthew 18:19) When we stand in unity and are in agreement with God’s Word, God releases His power.

God hears our requests and petitions for South Africa. His Spirit is with us. Let’s keep waiting on the Lord—together.

All of these with their minds in full agreement devoted themselves steadfastly to prayer, [waiting together]… Acts 1:14 (AMPC)

4. #Pray4SA

Set time aside and pray for God’s supernatural intervention in South Africa.

Power Up

God is calling us back to the House of Prayer. The only way South Africa will see God's supernatural intervention is through prayer. Keep praying, standing, and don’t quit. It’s time to POWER UP!

Then the smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up to God from the hand of the angel. After this, the angel filled the incense container with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth. Thunder roared, lightning flashed, and the earth shook. Revelation 8:4-5 (CEV)
